Today’s comic is loosely based on a conversation I had with my brother-in-law a few weeks ago. We were impersonating members of Dethklok (much to the ire of others present) and the line “It’s funny because it’s not” came up, which led to the doodle that led to the comic.
For those of you that are into metal, June 10th marked the release of the first single from Machine Head’s upcoming album Unto the Locust, which I’m pretty excited about. I was particularly impressed with their previous album The Blackening, and if the single is any indication of what is to come, it will be a welcome addition to my music library. Singer/Guitarist Robb Flynn states Unto the Locust will be another installment of “crushing guitars and dark melodies…taken to a new level.”
In other metal news, XLN Audio released their METAL add-on for their program Addictive Drums. My first thought was, “FINALLY!” followed by, “can I justify blowing $60 on a virtual drum set?” After a minimum of internal debate, I gave in, and am now proudly doomed to have amazingly brutal drum tracks.
