We’re not suggesting that ALL lawyers are evil and have unsavory backgrounds (yes we are), but with the recent discovery that most lawyers are former evil henchmen, well, it’s hard not to draw certain conclusions.
Corporate profits > customer satisfaction (sometimes)
by joel on June 20, 2011 at 10:46 pmLook – we’re not saying that ALL game companies make this tradeoff ALL the time, but there certainly seem to be specific cases where the decisions that get made clearly fall in the category of “we don’t give a rats @$$ about the users experience, we just want our ca$h money.” Recent issues with New Vegas DLC come to mind, and I’m sure you can think of others, as well.
The funny thing is – people are such sheep that they just keep on buying the stuff anyway, regardless of repeated quality issues. I mean, we’re in the flock, too, I’m just saying…
I love my dogs, but their randomly possessive nature vexes me. We have the same toys in the house that we had yesterday, but for some strange reasontoday was the day one of them decided that a particular toy belonged to them, and woe was the other pup for thinking otherwise. A drag down, brutal fight ensued, twice, before the little one eventually gave up. Then, just as quickly as it began the entire thing was over. Sharing ensued, a rainbow appeared, and it was like nothing had happened. All I can say is – WTF!?

We actually heard of stuff like this happening, and thought to ourselves – what did the Sony execs think when they heard about it?
Astute observers will have already noticed our new podcast, entitled: This Conversation Is Being Recorded. We’re trying to keep them short and sweet (and hilarious) – so those of you with short attention spans shouldn’t have any trouble sitting through one. Go ahead, give it a listen – you know you want to!
